Over the past 35 years Linahon Music Productions has produced, recorded and mixed over 400 projects including, televison & film soundtracks, albums, voice-overs, commercials, infomercials, live on-air and satellite uplink broadcasts for a wide ranging clientele. James „Jim“ Linahon’s Grammy, Emmy, Golden Globe and Downbeat award winning projects cross section a wide range of genres. With an extensive professional background in classical, jazz, rock, country and world music, LMP continues to work in virtually any facet of music and sound production with proven success. The Musician

Jim is a trumpet artist with an extensive background as a studio musician. His professional work in the music industry in both classical and jazz music was paralleled by a distinguished career as a College Professor. In April 2016 Jim was inducted into the University of Northern Iowa’s “Jazz Hall of Fame” and in 2017 into the California Jazz Alliance “Hall of Fame” for his work in music education.


The Composer

Jim served the International Olympic Committee as well as the “2000 Olympic Games Opening Ceremony” (Australia), the “EPCOT Center” opening ceremony music (Disney World) and “on air“ music for the unveiling of the newly refurbished Statue of Liberty (New York). He produced the music for Angelina Jolie’s directorial debut movie “In the Land of Blood and Honey” (2012), which was Golden Globe nominated. Jim’s recent film work includes the Title Song for Bejing Film’s “If A Life Without You” (Shanghai, China 2015).


The Producer and his studios

Jim has produced and recorded for a wide diversity of artists, studios and agencies including Tony Bennett, Frank Sinatra, Arsenio Hall, Barry Manilow, Johnny Carson, Merv Griffin, Sammy Davis Jr., Ella Fitzgerald, Henry Mancini, Sarah Vaughn, Beverly Sills. Among his clients belong famous companies such as Warner Bros., The Walt Disney Co., Sony, ABC, NBC, CBS, CNN, A&E and leading institutions including World Projects International, The United States Department of State and The United Nations.
Celebrated its 25th Anniversary in 2004 with the opening of its 1.600 square foot custom recording studio in Los Angeles and today in 2020 LMP is one of the busiest production studios in Los Angeles. With exterior design by national award winning CEDG Architects, and interior recording studio design by internationally renown studio bau:ton of Los Angeles/Zurich, our clients will find one of the most relaxing, open, esthetically appealing and musically superb recording spaces in LA.

Recently in 2019-2020 Jim has been busy with “Brilliant Classics” (Netherlands) artist Jenny Soonjin Kim, with different projects by Larry Koonse, Alexis Cole, Markus Burger, Peter Erskine, Bob Magnusson and a new CD for the Taipei Jazz Orchestra TJO.
